Simple and sublime, Custom Robo Arena was quite clearly developed with the little tykes in mind, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. It’s colorful, wacky and has plenty of different weapons and other Robo parts to keep you occupied. While RPG veterans will undoubtedly find the text interactions childish (if not downright silly), these snippets of dialogue don’t interfere with the core gameplay of robot fighting. Custom Robo Arena is one of the better times I’ve had with my Nintendo DS, and I’d recommend it to anyone that can tolerate a little anime style cuteness mixed in with their mechanized mayhem.
